Checklist of the Butterflies of the Toronto Region, 3rd edition, 2007

Now in its third edition, Barry Harrison's checklist contains records of every butterfly species recorded within a 50-km radius of the Royal Ontario Museum in downtown Toronto in the last 140 years. The area covered ranges roughly from Milton to Bolton to Stouffville to Whitby. Flight seasons are shown graphically, indicating the height of the season separately from the periods at the start and end when the species is less frequently observed. Every species is assigned to one of seven categories of commonness. Migrant species are assigned to one of eight categories accoring to their breeding status in Ontario.
