Joining the TEA

Anyone with an interest in insects is encouraged to join the Toronto Entomologists' Association. Dues are on a calendar year basis. The categories are as follows:

Individual -- $30; Student -- free (Association finances permitting -- beyond that, a charge of $20 will apply); Family -- $35.

Anyone who renewed for the year starting August 1, 2021 will have their membership extended without charge to the end of 2022.

Benefits from a T.E.A. membership include:

  • 3 issues per year of our newsletter Ontario Insects
  • annual seasonal summary Ontario Lepidoptera
  • monthly meetings in Toronto, generally from September to April, for those living close enough to attend (about 2/3 of our members live outside the GTA)
  • knowledge that you are supporting the work of the TEA involving insects, including the Ontario Butterfly Atlas and Ontario Moth Atlas websites
  • ability to join the TEA's Ontario government permit to raise monarchs and swallowtails

Members have a choice as to whether they prefer to receive the newsletter and seasonal summary publications in paper or electronically.

Payment may be made by cheque or by email (through an Interac e-transfer to teacrickard@bell.net). The latter option usually involves an Interac fee of $1.50, although the service packages of some banks may make this free -- ask your bank.

To join:

Use our printer friendly Membership Form; download the membership application in Word format; or email the TEA treasurer, Chris Rickard, at teacrickard@bell.net.

To donate:

Send the funds to our Treasurer using the cheque or Interac e-transfer options above, and we will send you a donation receipt. The TEA is a registered charity.
