Books about insects

The links below are to the pages about insect books in the Ontario Field Naturalist’s Toolchest, prepared by Brent Turcotte of North Bay. The pages are up to date and quite comprehensive.

- butterflies and moths

- dragonflies and damselflies

- books about insects in general

- beetles, grasshoppers, etc.

Another publication of possible interest is the Checklist of Ontario Butterflies 2012 by Colin Jones, published by the Hamilton Naturalists' Club. It is a folding list intended to be used to record butterflies in the field, and is similar to the lists used by birders. Here is a sample page. The price is $1.25 per copy. Ordering information is provided on this page.
